This group is a good fit for practicing (licensed or associate license) child therapists interested in learning more about play therapy or working towards the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. The group is facilitated by Rosie Newman, MA, LMHC, RPT-S.
For 60 minutes it’s $50 per person (limited to two participants), and for an hour and a half, it’s $95 per person (limited to three participants)
Now accepting applications for closed group supervision (monthly or bimonthly) starting in Fall 2017.
Email Rosie at firstname.lastname@example.org with a little about yourself, your availability and contact information and I’ll get back to you about availability scheduling.
If you are accruing hours towards the RPT credential:
Receiving supervision from an RPT-S can expedite that process. You are able to fulfill your supervision requirements by obtaining 335 supervised hours and 30 hours of clinical supervision from an RPT-S (versus 500 supervised hours and 50 hours of supervision from an non-RPT-S credentialed supervisor). For information about the Registered Play Therapist credential see the “Tips for Gaining your RPT” tab.
You are responsible of keeping track of your hours, and I will sign off (on Form A of the RPT application) the number of hours you receive.
If the proposed days and times do not work for you, please fill out the contact form and suggest other days/times and you will be added to the emailing list. Alternatively, you may choose to obtain individual supervision.
Cancellation Policy: You will receive a refund if you cancel your place with notice of 2 or more business days. Cancellations with less than 2 business day’s notice will be subject to a $50 fee.
Relevant Information from the “Supervision, 0700” section of the RPT Application
Supervision hours count towards the 30 hours of supervision with an RPT-S for the RPT credential (You will need 50 hours of supervision if you do not see an RPT-S)
At least 10 hours need to be with the same supervisor
No more than 15 hours with a group
At least 1 hour of observation (video or in person) from a supervisor is required
Associate licensure and graduate level interns are welcome. Tip! You are able to accrue RPT supervision hours before you are licensed AND before you graduate with a Master’s degree.
