CCD Research Study

We are excited to invite you to participate in a research study focused on the efficacy of Child-Centered Documentation (CCD) framework. This study aims to explore how training in this framework can enhance therapists’ confidence in the care they provide as well as their documentation process, while also reducing burnout.

Click here for more information about the CCD framework.

Participation in this study involves:

  • Completing three (3) online surveys over the course of approximately 1 month
  • Participating in the CCD training program either in May or June 2025 based on group assignment
To join the study, refer to the steps below.

STEP 1: Fill out the consent form

The consent form must be submitted by Wednesday, April 2, 2025 11:59 PM PST.

This is a randomized study and participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two training groups listed in Step 2. Group assignment and registration details will be emailed to participants by the end of day Friday, April 4, 2025.

STEP 2: Register for the CCD training according to your group assignment*

May Training Group:

  • CCD 1 – Friday, May 2, 2025 @ 3:30pm – 7pm PST
  • CCD 2 – Friday, May 9, 2025 @ 3:30pm – 7pm PST
  • CCD 3 – Friday, May 16, 2025 @ 3:30pm – 7pm PST
  • CCD 4 – Friday, May 23, 2025 @ 3:30pm – 7pm PST

June Training Group:

  • CCD 1 – Friday, May 30, 2025 @ 3:30pm – 7pm PST
  • CCD 2 – Friday, June 6, 2025 @ 3:30pm – 7pm PST
  • CCD 3 – Friday, June 13, 2025 @ 3:30pm – 7pm PST
  • CCD 4 – Friday, June 20, 2025 @ 3:30pm – 7pm PST

* Please note that QIPT members are eligible for a reduced registration fee.

STEP 3: Complete 3 surveys and participate in the CCD training program**

All participants, regardless of their group assignment, will be required to complete surveys at three time points:

  • Survey 1 – Between April 21 and May 1, 2025
  • Survey 2 – Between May 10 and May 16, 2025
  • Survey 3 – Between May 23 and May 30, 2025

The surveys will be conducted online via Qualtrics and will take about 10-15 minutes each to complete. Your participation in all three surveys is crucial to the success of our study regardless of which group you are assigned to. Your insights and experiences will be invaluable in helping us understand the impact of this approach and in shaping future training programs for therapists.

** Participants may take up to 2 out of 4 sessions as non-contact by watching the recorded sessions. In such cases, participants must complete the recorded session before taking the corresponding survey. Failure to do so will result in loss of compensation.

STEP 4: Receive compensation for your participation

Participants who meet all study requirements will receive the following compensation:

  • May Training Group: A $150 USD virtual gift card + CCD Workflow and Desktop Reference (valued at $75) upon completion of all three surveys by each deadline and the entire CCD training program
  • June Training Group: A $150 USD off promo code for the June 2025 CCD training + CCD Workflow and Desktop Reference (valued at $75) upon completion of all three surveys by each deadline

Compensation will be distributed after verifying all study requirements have been fulfilled.

Please note that this opportunity is only available to those who have not received prior training in CCD.

This is the last live CCD training of 2025. Take advantage of this chance to enhance your skills and receive compensation!

Your participation is entirely voluntary, and all information collected will be kept strictly confidential. If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please contact Audrey Chung at achung2@seattleu.edu.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to contribute to important research in play therapy.

Sincerely,
